“It’s not about the money,” said Dr. P. J. Marshio of the M&M Medical & Surgical Clinic in Rockport.  His wife, Beverly, agreed whole-heartedly with her husband.  “It is all about making people feel better about themselves,” she added.

Not only does the clinic offer treatments for wrinkles, freckles, rosacea, acne, age spots, spider veins, unwanted hair, and cellulite, they give personal and emotional counseling for a complete understanding of the procedures and results.  “She’s (Beverly) is the brains behind this,” smiled Dr. Marshio.  She sees the patients first to get their medical history and then he follows up with the medical consultation.   It is a special and unique experience to have both a physician and surgical counselor in the same firm with numerous years of combined work experience in their specific fields.

Dr. Marshio received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1971.  After completing his general surgery residency, he pursued a fellowship in thoracic and vascular surgery in Denmark, and then served as a war surgeon in Lebanon.  After completing another surgery fellowship in Chicago, he served for four years on the thoracic and vascular surgery faculty at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Worth, Texas.  He has practiced surgery in the Coastal Bend since 1983 and has been affiliated with seven regional hospitals.

Beverly Marshio is the clinical assistant, surgical counselor, and the practice manager for M&M Medical & Surgical Clinic.  Her psychology degree from Texas Christian University and her doctoral/graduate studies at Texas A&M Universities led her to thirty-four years of experience as an assistant to a clinical psychologist.  The Marshios have worked together in the hospital and office since their marriage.

Because of extensive up-to-date training in Canada, Georgia, Missouri, New York, and Texas – Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio - the Marshios are able to offer non-invasive, medical-grade services.  Light-based treatments for hair removal deliver a gentle energy to the skin to disintegrate the hair and are longer lasting than waxing; in most cases, they are permanent.  Photo rejuvenation allows the patient a natural way to reduce wrinkles, age spots, redness caused by broken capillaries, sun damage, stretch marks, acne, and large pores.

Another treatment offered is exfoliation of the skin, including medical microdermabrasion and chemical peel; these help in improving the skin texture and color by removing the topmost layer of skin.  In addition, they offer injectable procedures, such as Botox (a purified protein to reduce muscle activity) and Restylane (a gel of hyaluronic acid to reduce volume and fullness to the skin).

Dr. and Mrs. Marshio have recently trained with some of the world’s leading experts in the field of aesthetic medicine, including the top experts in the fields of Botox and injectable fillers.

Because of the demand for their services, M&M Medical & Surgical Clinic has moved to a larger facility.  Located at 2851 North Highway 35, they now have a beautifully remodeled and sufficient space to take care of their patients with added comfort and privacy.

It is quite easy to feel the excitement and enthusiasm of this awesome medical team within just a few minutes of stepping into their clinic.  Their main concern is for the total understanding of their patients prior to any treatment.  “Our hearts and souls are in this clinic; we love what we do,” emphasized Beverly.  Dr. Marshio concluded, “It has made me feel better, too.  If I can’t help you, I don’t want to waste your money.”
